It’s in the books. Bjorn ravaged the SavageMan bike course with a 2:36:47 for the 55.7 miles. A new bike course record, a new overall course record, and a new course record for the Hammer Nutrition Big Savage Mountain Ascent of 31:30. He’s insane. I didn’t think sub 2:40 was possible on that course.
Others did, however. In particular, one Jeffrey Coe is the grand prize winner of HED Stinger wheelset courtesy of HED wheels with a 2:36:42 guess. Thank God there was no tie, because it would have been a real shame to have to cut those wheels in half.
Second place prize of a $500 K*Swiss gear package goes to a Russell Blaise with his guess of 2:36:40.
Many thanks to Bjorn and his sponsors Hed Wheels and K*Swiss for sponsoring this contest. Well over $1000 was raised through this contest for the Joanna M Nicolay Melanoma Foundation.
Thanks, Bjorn. And next year I’m putting Bowman Hill into the SavageMan course. Killer Miller couldn’t do it, but that one will slow you down.
When Kyle emailed me and told me I got second, he asked if I would have guessed that fast of a time if I had known how hard of a course it was. HA. No way.
That course was just cruel. And now that I see he is the course architect, I bet he’s going to go back and find new climbs to torture us with next year.
Great race. Great volunteers. and a steady stream of people cheering along the entire single loop bike course. Can’t ask for more than that!
I can’t wait to go back next year and see my name on one of the bricks on the Westernport Wall and hopefully get another one!
I WON!!! WOW. I saw the post with the winning time yesterday and thought I was close but I couldn’t remember. Holy shit my hands are shaking. I keep scrolling down to make sure that is my name as the winner. Do I have to do anything or contact anyone?
