Great New Yorker Cover!

Perfect! Made me laugh, and I still smile when I look at it. Hard to see the detail in this small photo, but the best I could find:

The best part is that the Tour riders are looking towards the messenger. Slight turning and incline of heads. Just begging you to wonder what those guys would think if this happened.

Brilliant.

I liked it too. I have to point out that the messenger’s bike has gears, a rear reflector, and drop bars, though - definitely not your average Boston messenger bike. But I guess it’s tough to ride a fixed gear in the Alps and Pyrenees…

True, and the drivetrain is on the left side of the bike, with no shifters available. I think the waist-chain and blueprints tube lend adequate authenticity though.

It still cracks me up.

You DO realize that the Cycle Messenger World Championships were in NYC this year, June 30-July 4 (the same weekend the Tour started)???

For anyone who hasn’t seen it (and has the bandwidth for a 50MB download), this video of messengers racing through Manhattan is worth checking out:

BTW, what’s the penalty for car surfing in a triathlon?
