Great HR Deal! 39.99 Garmin 50 + foot pod and ant stick

www.onesaleaday.com

Good for the next 22 hours.

No affiliation, just great deal. should give people HR and Speed and Distance for running.

Passing it along, hope somone who has been looking for a cheep HR monitor goes for this.

That is a good deal…I just bought two!

I’m doing a little research on this - and it does NOT appear that this kit comes with the HR monitor/strap. It WILL display HR info if you get the strap, it just doesn’t come with it…the page is somewhat confusing in that it says “comes with a wireless heart rate monitor,” but the list of package contents does not reflect this. If you google it and look at other sites, they do list the HR strap for some packages.

I think you’re correct. If wanting to use the HR monitor as well as use it for riding you would need to buy the HR strap and cycle sensor from Garmin. Both are listed at $60 each.

I think you’re right…only footpod. The model number ending in 25 has both the footpod and the HR strap. Nonetheless still a good deal. I have plenty of Polar HR straps!

Are polar HR straps all the same? I’ll have to check mine when I get home (I can’t even remember if mine IS a polar).
If that is the case, it’s a great deal for people in my situation.

Thanks,
drew

Will HR straps work across brands? I have the coded ones from Polar and wondering if it will work with this?

BIG QUESTION: is the foot pod a GPS unit or just a pedometer?

Dave in VA

From what I could tell, it’s just a pedometer. I searched for it on Amazon, and some of the reviews indicated that people were struggling with their calibration, which to me means pedometer.

Thanks. This is a HUGE difference. If its just a pedometer than I’ll pass. Like i’ve always said, if its too good to be true…

Especially since the same search on Amazon turned up a 305 with all the bells and whistles for ~$150.

The Garmin 50 is a HR monitor and can also do cadence, but the
foot pod is an accelerameter. No gps. The ANT+ is for data
transfer.

Good for a HR monitor, but not a GPS.

Garmin and Polar straps have not been interchangeable in the past.

Thanks for the insight… I’ll probably just go with a footpod for my Polar RS400 instead =P.

I got two of these last time they were up at this site. All I needed was the footpod for running on the treadmill and it has worked well.

Good deal as the footpod is more expensive alone elsewhere…
