Great Bike Fit Melbourne Australia or TTBIKEFIT.COM?

Just contemplating a check up / review of my tri bike fit but don’t have a known / recommended option here in Melbourne Australia.

I was also considering TTBIKEFIT.com for a remote fit, any feedback on them would be appreciated too. Quick search of the forum shows a couple of +ve mentions of them.

I have nothing but great things to say about Todd at TTbikefit.com. I had my fit done there in person a few years ago and I was VERY happy with the result. Todd took his time and I spent something like 2-3 hours there at my initial fit. I also had him do some work on my bike, installed a new front end and some other tweaks to my TT bike and I was very happy with the work. Todd is extremely knowledgeable and when I lived in that area was EXTREMELY well respected amongst the triathlon community there. When I buy another tri bike I am pretty sure I’ll fly up to RI and go visit friends and have Todd redo my fit. I know at least a dozen other folks who have been fitted by Todd and all were very pleased. I don’t know anyone who has worked with him remotely, but if I was not able to see him in person, or another great fitter in person, I would definitely strongly consider it.

No experience with anyone in Australia (though I still hold the country of my birth in high regard) - but Todd from TT Bike Fit is excellent. I’ve done a fit with him in person (about 6 years ago), as well as a remote fit. He’s very, very good - his remote fit is 10x better than what you’d get with the vast majority of “fitters” that I’ve come across.

The one catch with TT Bikefit is you do have to have a very, very basic level of mechanical ability - ie., can you measure your seat height properly? Can you bust out the hex wrenches to adjust your saddle position? Can you raise/lower your handlebars on your own? I know it sounds simple - but I know a shocking number of people that can’t do that.

I had a number of fits by 3 or 4 different folks including a Retuel trained long time fitter, before I went to see Todd at TTBikefit.com. He was excellent and I think I was in his studio 3-4 hours. The first in person fit I did with him was after I had knee surgery and was recovering. I ended up have a better position so I was faster in my IM with less watts on same course, I feel due to fit changes he made. Next year went back as I swapped to custom shoes and shorter cranks, continued to have knee issues so he adjusted my fit more for comfort and being able to ride…again great fit.

I’ve recommended friends to go see him and have been impressed as well.

He gets triathletes. His wife usually wins her AG in Kona every year and his fitting is focused on triathletes and lots of long course triathletes.

I’ve had good experience with Todd too.

But if a good fitter is available locally, this is usually your best option. If traveling to Sydney is an option, Steve Hogg has years of fitting experience.

Thanks for the feedback all, much appreciated!

I’ve heard Steve Hogg is amazing but with flights I’d be in for a little too much $.

Just getting in contact with Todd now…looks like a perfect xmas present for myself.

Cyclespeed in Gardenvale is a good choice.

I will echo what others have said, Todd knows his stuff. You will not be dissapointed if you decide to go the ttbikefit route. Simply looking at the people he has fit and the times/awards they have produced should be all you need in order to make this decision.

Resurrecting this. Best options for TT bike fit in Melbourne these days?

I’d be happy to chime in here and self promote at the same time… www.peninsulabikefit.com.au
I am a F.I.S.T. trained fitter based on the Mornington Peninsula. There are very few fitters in Melbourne using a dynamic fit bike and even fewer of them racing themselves.
Drop me a line…
