I have been around long enough to know relationship are complicated. They seem to be very difficult for powerful people. I have read enough interview about Newt to know he has repented from his poor behavior and that is good enough for me.
One thing I have observed is that when you ride that high horse, soon enough you will get bucked off.
Like they say, “you can take the democrat out of the trailer park, but you cant take the trailer park out of the democrat and call him a republican”…Stupid ass cracker should go back to being a shitty fake republican governer.
Take it easy
The candidate does not have the luxury of a press secretary or a teleprompter like Obama does. Dude is flying fast in a fast tempo/environment that Obama does not need to deal with…yet
Who’s side are you on?

Well since he repented…![]()
I’ll refer to this post the next time a Dem apologizes for an indiscretion…
I can’t judge him on this. That would be me in a debate.
I saw the clip of that on youtube…un-bee-leev-able. Seriously? It’s your platform, and you can’t even remember it?
He should’ve written them on his hand, like the real pro’s do.
I can’t judge him on this. That would be me in a debate.
But you’re not claiming to be qualified to be president, he is.
“Who’s side are you on?”
The side of a competent, strong, fiscally sound USA with competent, strong, fiscally sound leadership.
Once you admit “Oops” in a debate you are toast. Not a Perry fan BTW.
While there are probably skills that overlap between debating and negotiating, am I not so sure that being good at one is necessarily a requisite for being good at the other.
I know plenty of successful lawyers and business men who have negotiated huge deals, who probably wouldn’t be great debaters in the sense of what is tested during Presidential debates.
Newt to know he has repented from his poor behavior and that is good enough for me.
Clinton repented for his bad behaviour, was that good enough for you too?
These aren’t debates, they are mini-campaign sound bites. Perry just isn’t very quick on his feet and seems to jump a synapse or two during some of the exchanges.
I agree he may not be quick on his feet. I’m not quite sure that in itself says anything about his intelligence or whether he’s up to the task of being President. I suspect this case, however, is more of a brain fart than being quick on one’s feet. Could happen to anyone who’s a bit nervous. More likely to happen if one’s underprepared.
Yes it is.
Yeah, but he had other dead air stammering gaps in his performance last night and before. Not ready for prime time in my opinion.
Perry could have locked up the nomination with six simple words …
“Commerce … Education … and … uhm … and … hmmm … San Dimas High School football rules!!!”
Cap it off with a solid fist pump, then you strut off stage.
The debates are essenitally an “interview” with the American People. They don’t tell you everything, but they tell you something, and just like any other decision making process, you have to go off of what little data you have.
…unfortunatley, that only really means something to smart people. ; ^ ) Have you ever watched the debates where they had a focus group watch and then they’d interview them after the debates? I am always amazed at the dumb reasons they give for liking or not liking a candidate.
high horse? Saying that one should avoid cheating when in a committed relationship is riding on a high horse? If so I’m pretty sure 93% (completely made up statistic) of western society is riding pretty high. Or did you have another point to make?
In the competitive and completely unfair world of election politics, his performance was deadly. Expecting Newt to become the last anti-Romney …
The list of the fallen is long for politicians. Everybody falls, just don’t lie to the American people about it if you want their trust.
