Got 4 requests from random people I don’t know from all over the world within the last 5 days. I don’t get followers requests 1) because my account is not worth following and 2) it’s usually from friends/acquaintances
Is strava the new scammer arena the way Whatsapp and Telegram have become?
Am I missing anything?
They’re just bots that advertise a website or something. I have had a bunch of them
That, or people realize it’s “Ambassador Season,” and are fluffing up their follower count to put on their applications so they can get a 15% discount code to flog in their Insta posts.

I normally don’t request to follow anyone, but in the past month I’ve requested four new people. The main reason was they started to challenge my ‘local legends’. I don’t care about holding local legends, I just wasn’t aware of some cyclists by me. It appears all four moved to the area in the past 6-months. Without local legend, I would not have known.
You requests are coming globally, so that’s odd. Are you on Zwift? I had a few Zwifters try to follow me.

I’m on zwift but currently on Trainerroad so I haven’t been on zwift for about a month.
Anyway I can see that as a possibility of local legends, but I’m definitely not one as I don’t often ride outdoors.
