I travel quite often for work and would like to stay at hotels that have the best workout rooms / pools. Does anyone know of a website that ranks or lists the best facilities in US cities?
I’d love to see this as well… in my experience, hampton inns are more likely to have deals with local gyms than other hotel chains. Another way to go is to get a good deal at Bally’s (I pay ~100 a year), as they are the largest chain and most likely to have one near where you travel.
Ballys? GOOD GOD!! I have traveled a LOT (75+ nights per year some years), and barely remember seeing very many Ballys at all. I would argue a YMCA membership would be better. I have yet to find a town that does NOT have a YMCA over the past 3 years. Although many of them are very old, they are gyms nonetheless, and many have pools (how many Ballys have pools?
There are also some VERY nice Y’s (Grand Rapids MI is the best I’ve ever been in, and Fort Wayne, IN believe it or not has two VERY nice moden Y’s).
I’ve had memberships to numerous gyms, and the YMCA has been the most consistent and easiest. In fact many towns have MULTIPLE YMCA’s, including small towns.
Back to your original question, though, I’ve never heard of anything like this but it would be an interesting idea. There is already a database of pools that I use, found here:
Best hotel gym I’ve ever seen? Hotel Ivy in Minneapolis, MN - AMAZING (but no pool).
I once swam in circles for 20 minutes in a hotel pool that was slightly larger than a jacuzzi
it was awesome

There’s a website you can subscribe to called the athletic minded traveler. They have lots of hotel reviews and stuff.
Westin Hotels has specially reserved “workout rooms” that are on the same floors as their gyms and you can get a workout kit sent to your room that consists of stretching tools and stuff. In some locations you can even get a treadmill or spin bike in your room.
