So I have to move and unlike my current place which has indestructible marble flooring, my new place has well to wall carpeting:P Right now I’m using one of those wall leaning racks that holds to bikes one on top of each other right now, you know the standard with arms that you hang the bike on by it’s top tube. I’m thinking I have to protect the carpet in this new place and between me and my roommate we have 5 nice bikes, a P3sl, Felt F3c, Felt F65, Guro Chrono Alu, and my Yeti ASR-sl mountain bike all which do not like living outside and are afraid of rain and thieves much like 5 spoiled pets;)
So I’m thinking of making some “transition racks” of the sort they use at some races, IM Kona for example that hold bikes side by side by resting the back tire in a slot. I’ll place this in the living room and put it on a piece of plastic, or maybe a carpet remnant to that any stuff that falls off the bike stays there and doesn’t get on the surrounding carpet.
Any comments or suggestions from people who have worked this or other carpet solutions well?
But the new place has a Jacuzzi! Now if only I can figure out how to make that into an ice plunge for after my workouts…
The carpet remnant is a good idea but wetness could leak through… another idea might be to mount some pergo flooring on some plywood and lay it on the carpet…might look kind of nice.
