Good Indoor Training Wireless Headphones

Posting a quick recommendation for over-hear wireless headphones for indoor trainers…

I rot headphones on the trainer with a lot of sweat. So, I have been buying inexpensive, wired, over-hear headphones. I want some comfort and sound quality, so I don’t buy total crap. I have been using $20 wired sets until now.

On a whim, I came across these Anker Active Noise Canceling over hear headphones for $50 on Amazon with their in-line coupon. I bought a set, and so far I love them. They stay on. They sound good. The ANC is good (not great, but plenty good enough). And for the price and performance, I can live with failure if I get 6-months of heavy use out of them. If I get a year or more, I will be praising them to the hills.

I got the Aftershokz Trekz Titanium as gift from my family. Absolutely love them. They work great inside or out and with a toque or headband on cold days outside.

agreed. these are awesome for indoor and outdoor training. for what they are the sound quality is impressive.

I bought my wife a pair of the cowin earphones for Christmas. They are really good! They are similar to the ones you linked. I’ve never had a pair of Bose to compare too, but for $50-60, I think they are a good value.

My ears get too warm with over the ear style headphones. But it looks like a decent deal for a wireless noise cancelling headphones, I may pick up a pair for when I travel. I have some of Ankers other products (cables, portable chargers) and have been pleased with them so far.

I was using some wireless jaybirds which were decent. I went through 2 pairs in a few years.

Like the other posters I have been using the aftershokz trekz titanium. Sound quality isnt the best, but it is good enough for me when I am riding. They also work good for riding outside since your ears are still open so you can listen to your surroundings.

I also run with them. You can head traffic and they are excellent. Also unlike normal headphones the sweat doesnt get in your ears.

I use the Trekz Aftershockz Air, which is the slightly smaller version of the Titanium. They’re fantastic for the same reason that people like the Titanium. I use them on the trainer and while running. Unlike Apple Airpods, you can adjust volume directly on the headphones.

The only thing I don’t like about them is the sound quality, but that’s the trade off you make for the open ear benefits of the Trekz.

I’ve got two years into a set of Cowin E7 cans, and they have been (knock on wood) flawless. They aren’t up to the level of my audiophile/studio stuff, or even the Sony WH1000XM3 I use on airplanes, but they’re completely acceptable, bomb-proof, and in the same $60 price range.

Quick question for those who wear bluetooth headphones on the trainer. What do you use to send the sound from TV to the headphones? Is there a bluetooth transmitter for this? Newer TV’s may have this built in, but the one in my pain cave doesn’t.

Thanks!

I’ve had good luck with the Plaintronics Backfit Fit headphones for indoor and outdoor training. If you’re looking for noise cancelling, they aren’t the best for that. But they’re very much sweat resistant and comfortable.

As for broadcasting directly to the headphones - if you have a Roku streaming stick, you can install their app on your cellphone and use that to play directly to your headphones.

Most modern receivers have Bluetooth. But, if you have older stuff, you might have to connect a BT transmitter to the receiver or tv.

Nate, you’re going to want something like this.

i have been using Aftershokz Titanium for indoor and outdoor ride and recently bought Aeropex just for the waterproof feature which i can just shower with it and even use it for jacuzzi too.
