Is there anything special about the Rubber Cement that comes in a tube patch kit ? Would a Super Glue or the like work also, or is there some danger of the glue eating the rubber, etc. ?
I don’t think superglue would seal the patch, any type of contact cement will do the trick - needs to seal the patch and be flexible.
Super glue won’t work at all, and contact cement won’t work nearly as well.
