Perusing the shelves at CVS, and found glucose tablets and a glucose shot for diabetics.
Anybody ever tried this as a quick energy hit/bonk breaker?
70cals of instant sugar rush might be just the think with a few miles left.

$4 for glucose gel worked for me within a minute; I’m too cheap to pay that much when 5 minutes for a sucrose/fructose gel (Power Gel, etc.) is also 75% cheaper.
The mouth works well as an energy delivery system for me. Injecting a shot would require me to slow down and the time saving (virtually immediate versus 20 seconds for glucose gel) would be lost by the time required to inject.
That said, what would you do with a used syringe and needle? Talk about the ultimate unwanted trash at the side of a road
yea bc of the price no one really gets it
.
It sounds cool, but who really wants to stop on a run and have other people pass by while you’re there shooting up?
I’d probably die laughing if I ever saw that in a race.
Hmm, poor choice of words on my part.
I meant ‘shot’ as in Gu Shot, EFS Shot, etc.
Mea culpa.
So if it’s 70 calories worth of liquid glucose in a small bottle?
That sounds kind of boring, and probably a lot worse than a gel Shot since you’ll spike your blood sugar then crash again in 10 minutes. I was really amused at the thought of someone being too lazy to eat, and they had to get their calories intravenously.
