Giro Empire Sizing Comparison?

Currently I have a pair of Northwave Evolution Plus shoes in a 44 and fit great but they are almost in need to be retired… So for those that have used Northwave what sizing comparison between the Empire and it did you find. Please note which model of the Empire too. thanks

I went from Northwave to Giro Empire SLX. I’d say the Giro is smaller (and narrower). Probably a half a size difference.

thanks. No one local has one so its hard to try on

Going from Shimano I sized up from 44 to 44.5. I too found the Empire’s to be more narrow, specifically in the toe box.

Just bought me a pair of SLXs and I also find them a tad too narrow, I am thinking about sending them back… I know it is personal but, did it get better for you with use (either the shoe deformed, or you just adapted to the narrower toe box)?
