Giro cycling shoes sizing?

interested in the Empire model. I wear size 44 in both Shimano TR51 and DMT Prisma - will Giro Empire size 44 be the same?

I wear Shimano and 45.5 works best. I have a set of Giro Rumble for cruzing around town on my fixie and they are a 45 and fit right but I think next time I might opt for a 45.5 if they make it in that model. (I like toe room)

I think you size down. I have a side 43 and a 42.5 fits very well.
Now if they only came out with thr black and giro pink. I really like that color!!

this pink is AWESOME! so, they do sell or not yet?

speaking of sizing: i hear ye, and probably 43.5 will be snug and alright, but i like extra toe room, besides in winter may wear thicker socks or just two pairs - then size 44 would probably make more sense. besides, there are things you can stick inside the heel-cup to take the size down a bit.

what says you?

In size 48, my Giro Prolight’s and Sidi Wires are basically the same size.

I’m a 43.5 in Specialized and Fizik. A 44 in LG. But ended up with 44.5 Empires (also 44.5 in the Factors).

No, unfortunately they don’t sell them. If they did I’d be all over them.
It was for Taylor Phinney this year on the Giro.
Oh we’ll.

Those are bowling shoes, right?

I have a pair of GIRO Prolight SLX’s in a size 42 and if I got the Mele (their tri-specific model) I would go down a half size. Maybe I just wore SIDI for too long but GIRO seems to be on the roomy side, not unlike specialized.

I have a lot of Shimano shoes (road/mtn/tri) and a pair of Giro Trans road shoes, all the same size. They all fit well. The only thing that’s particularly different about the fit of the Giro shoe is that the arch is much higher.

Alex

Giro runs about .5 size smaller from Shimano. For me at least it did. Granted, I only wore them once, but they seemed to be the right size. The discomfort wasn’t size related, just uncomfortable shoe related. I had the Faktor which is I believe the model down from the Prolight.

Edit: By smaller, I mean I went up .5 size as Ollie pointed out. From 46 Shimano to 46.5 Giro.

to add to the confusion, I went up a 1/2 size from my S-Works shoes (not the newest version) to my Giro Empires (which, btw are the most comfortable bike shoes I have ever owned)
