NO! the oversea’s model is not race legal in the US.

specialized has a pretty cool aero helmet as well. but it not sold in US because it isnt legal!

I just hope that $150 is for real. Was the tail reasonably low, will it sit on the back? Definately one of the purchases I’ve got planned for next year if it fits like I hope.
O man, I am so on for trying this on at interbike!if they have one I may get soo excited I might try running up and down the isles wearing it seeing if it does help lower wind resistance or not!
I tried the new Giro II on at a race last weekend, it is pretty good, but take note that only Oakley Zero and like sunglasses will work for many riders, as the earpieces/covers fit so tight.
Is this it or it this the old one?
from the pic’s on the web, the tail dosen’t appear to be very long. Can you rest the tail of the helmet on your upper back?

there is a pic on the giro website and the new tri mag has a pic in it too! I was assured by the bike shop that the price will be 150 bucks.
and yes, it did fit tight on the ears. glasses use will be limited!
It is legal here in the US. I got one when we were in the UK for the IM last month and I have raced with this helmet here in the US with out any problems. GREAT helmet!
From the pics I’ve seen on the web, it doesn’t appear as though this helmet is going to have provisions for mounting a shield. Is that true?
If so, that makes the sunglass issue an even bigger one.

I emailed the company asking the same question and was told there will not be an option for a shield/visor.

I have never been asked about my helmet at any race. So, I suppose a helmet for the overseas market would not really be an issue, unless you piss off or piss on a race official, whomever they are!
