Giant Trinity Advanced SL

Hi Guys

Tried searching but finding it difficult to locate any comments in the threads on the Giant Trinity Advanced SL

Can anyone point me to a thread?

Or does anyone own one / ridden one / know of a good review, comparison with other bikes?

A friend of mine has a chance to buy one for bargain price and wants to get to know about it as it isn’t one of the more popular rides…

Cheers, Toast

fab bikes. I have one and a P4. Very different rides. PM me if you like.

I recently bought a Trinity Advanced SL with Di2. It’s a sick bike but still getting used to it. The narrow aerobar pads are especially new to my body although definitely aero. Let me know if I can answer any questions you might have.

I have a 2009 Trinity Alliance 0 and love it, so I can only imagine that the Advanced is pure awesomeness. Esp the 0. I think those electronic shifter are on the bar ends and the base bar.

This month’s Triathlete mag does a head-to-head of the Specialized Shiv, Giant Trinity Advanced SL and the Trek Speed Concept 9…

I don’t know if it’s available on their web site.

Too bad no Felt DA or Cervelo P4. :frowning:

Yeah. The cover proclaims: Triple Threat: The 3 Fastest Triathlon Bikes. EVER.

lol…

I have a Trinity Advanced SL that I built up from the SL2 with SRAM red and 808/1080. Fizik Arione for TT and Profile for tris. Fits me perfectly and is a very fast bike. The most important thing is fit and the Giant is more adjustable than the Shiv but the fit is aggressive and not relaxed. If you fit a “tall/narrow” bike, the Giant will be a good choice. If you ride a more relaxed position, the Speed Concept is your best choice. From all the wind tunnel data I have seen the Shiv (with the nosepiece) is the fastest frame but remember the bike frame is only 5th or 6th on the list of factors that make a bike/rider combo fast. The one thing that is for sure the Giant is the cheapest frame of the new “superbikes”.
PM me if you want more info.

Very interesting, I plain don’t fit a P4 (too stretched out for me). Would be interested to hear your thoughts on the differences between the two bikes.

Does the P4 even exist? They have had so many problems that even pro teams cant get their hands on them. The new DA is UNREAL!!!

Does the front brake cable sticking out bother you at all? Looks wise.

The brake cable doesn’t bother me. I think it could be more streamlined but I have never hit it with my knees so that is all that really matters. The brakes are excellent too. I do a back and forth time trail where we have to make a hard turn in the width of the road and they slow me down well without any “excitement”. I’ve heard the Shiv brakes suck, the P4 are poor, and the Speed Concepts are just OK. Such is the cost of being totally streamlined.
