Has anyone tried one of these generic roof racks from eBay? Looks a lot like that Thule 450 rapid kit.

If your just holding bikes, fine, 125lb weight limit. We carry 4 kayaks on our Yakima, 225lb load Of course your car is also a determinator here.

Got the rack on Friday, overall it looks pretty decent.
The rail grabbers are plastic ------ though seem pretty sturdy. Are the Thule and Yakima ones metal?
Just a followup ---- the Thule model that they are a knock off of are also plastic.
