I’m pretty new to this board, but I’ve noticed it sure gets politically charged around here. I’m not here to tell anyone anything, but aren’t there a thousand Yahoo! message boards to discuss politics on? Just a thought… I came here to get away from all that…
You $#@&*%, why would you use Yahoo? Yahoo is a stinkin lier who has no taste and can’t read. I’d say chatboards.com is much more down with the common man. Obviously we poster’s have rights that are being ignored.

But aren’t all those “political” threads Bush’s fault? Or should we blame the Atheists? No, wait! Let’s blame the Christian prison guards at the newly built Bagdad Hilton (funded by YOUR tax dollars and 1/3 of all tri entrance fees).
I think i’ll try and do my best to avoid them as well. They can be occasionally entertaining, though.

Most of it is good fun, don’t let it scare you or piss you off, just skip em. The PC threads are even worse;)
Since you’re new, let me explain the eternal cycle that is the Slowtwitch Forum.
Frequently, religious and/or political topics are introduced. They inevitably generate heavy and heated traffic, far more than most tri-related topics. (Excepting the PC threads, naturally.)
After awhile, someone gets irked by having all these and/or political posts on A TRIATHLON FORUM, WHERE WE SHOULD ALL BE DISCUSSING TRIATHLON STUFF, JUST AS LONG AS IT DOESN’T HAVE ANYTHING TO DO, PLEASE OH PLEASE, WITH PCs!
And what does that person inevitably do? Create a triathlon-related thread for discussion? No, no, no. They start a brand new off-topic thread decrying the amount of off-topic threads.
Welcome to the club.
Do yourself a favor. Stay away from the political, religious, or other threads that are not tri-related. Unless you have plenty of time, nothing else to do, and a very high tolerance for stress.

It’s pretty easy to identify and skip the political debates. But, I do like the variety around here. As a rule, the people on this board are well-educated and have thoughtful opinions. Nothing breaks up the day like a good debate . . . . or some wierd personal experience report.
Thanks, folks! I’m an old-school tri-guy, but after 10 years away from it, I had a calling again. Politics tends to run rampant over at RBR forum, and after awhile, I get sick of it. So, as mentioned, I won’t waste my time reading those posts, and political correctness, well, let’s just suffice to say I don’t really have time for it anymore. Mincing words is for the spineless. I’m willing to get my feelings hurt! LOL!!
