Can anyone please tell me if these things fit in a standard cage?
If so, has anyone tried it out? Wondering how effectively the squirt-valve works overall, and if there are splashing/squirt issues while it’s in the cage…
Yes they fit. Although if you live in a particularly hot area, beware of the sun as I have had them melt on the really hot days and I live in upstate New York. I can’t imagine how they would fare in Arizona. It’s quite a surprise when you’re an hour away from home and you realize you don’t have the water you thought you had.
Most waterbottle cages have a tab on the very top. This tab matches the little indentation on regular waterbottles. To use this bottle on your bike, make sure that your cage does not have a tab, or either bend the tab out of the way.
This is a 32oz squeeze bottle designed for the sidelines of professional sports. This is not intended to be used in a cyclist’s cage. It might fit on your bike but it’s not going to be easy to get in/out. They are awesome bottles though and I have one at my work desk for everyday use.
Gatorade produces 20oz squeeze bottles that are designed for bikes. They are standard bottles and don’t have the same top as the bottle in question.
at $3.99, it seems like a pretty low-risk experiment.
Yeah, I agree - I think may give it a whirl on my downtube cage. I’ve become spoiled rotten by the squirt top on my Camelbak Podiums, and I’m too fancy to go back to normal tops now. But I’d love more volume for longer distances. Surprisingly hard to find larger volume bike bottles for some reason… I started thinking about other options after the recent thread about Raelert’s Powerbar bottle at Kona.
Have you folks ever considered the option of making a cage-compatible 32oz bottle with a good squirt top? I believe you’d have a decent market for 'em with the long-course tri & bike communities…

Thanks to everyone for your inputs!
spoiled rotten does not even begin to describe it for me…I’m a damn bottle snob now.
i use these bottles to ride all the time. as an earlier post said as long as you dont have a ‘traditional cage’ with a lip they squeeze in perfectly and sit snugly. i only ever ride with this bottle. dealing with all the other options for the extra fluids is just a royal p in the a. i have never failed to make it between fueling stops with a litre bottle. highly recommend.
Make sure you tighten down the top hard or it will leak, at least mine does. I use it as my horizontal bottle (aerobars) in a Profile Design Kage w/ a tab. It’s a tight fit but no problems whatsoever. Surprisingly, I get less splashing out of the top over bumps when the bottle is full than with my Podium bottles. Plus for $3 your can’t lose. Good luck.
Elite makes a 1-liter water bottle (like the gatorage one above) that fits into standard bike cages, bottle is called the Cincio I think? google it, i got a couple off Nashbar and they are perfect. i use mine in Tacx tao cages so no you don’t need an expandable-type bottle cage for it to work.
I’ve used this bottle my last few IM. Downtube in the Profile Design cage shown below. I’ve never had any problems. I would not use this bottle on the back of a saddle.
I use those all the time on my Profile Aqua rack, keeps me from ejecting regular bottles. The knock on the bottles are the clear plastic on the side to help see the fluid level, will crack, causing the lid to leak profusely. I picked them up at Wal-Mart, for $1.00 each last summer.
