Hi
I use Gatorade for calories and electrolyte along with gels, if I were to replace Gatorade what would I use?
Any suggestions?

Welcome to the forum, Lionel Sanders.
In addition to advice on Gatorade, you should get plenty of input around here regarding your diet, training, coach, and aero position.
Tailwind.
I’m glad you brought this subject up. I’m a believer in Gatorade when you follow these helpful tips below.
You have a vegan diet
Do long very hard work outs the week before Kona,
Argue with yourself that you, maybe, possibly, are a great coach for yourself, and always second guess yourself
Change your aero position at least once a week
Next week I will have a new video showing my indoor swimming tips that can be done in your bathtub.
Love,
Lionel
Tailwind is the closest I have found to a perfect sports drink. Glucose based, 2 to 1 ratio of Glucose and Sucrose. Pretty good sodium concentration and electrolyte balance. Tastes great(i realize that is very subjective). It can be used as a low solution sports drink, like skratch or osmo or as a high concentrated one( I use a 16 ounce bottle mixed at 500 calories and alternate sips of that and water to avoid on course nutirition. Saves having to use 2+ bottles of gatoraid endurance).
Most of the research I have found, that isn’t paid for by sports nutitrition companies, has sugested a 2:1 ratio of glucose to some other sugar, with some mixed results about malto. Some people malto works great for, other not so much. malto based sports drinks and gels tend to upset my stomach personally.
I like Skratch and Osmo, which have similar electrolyte levels to other sports drinks, but much less sugar/carbs. They’re excellent in hot weather, when hydration requirements might mean taking in too much sugar with a traditional Gatorade-style drink. I also use them in colder weather, because you can just add food for calories. It’s also nice not to have that cloying sugar-mouth feeling when you’re drinking sports drink for hours on really long rides.
Does anyone ever use Pedialyte?
TAILWIND x 1000!!!
Try some different sports drinks, many are available in single serving packages so you don’t need to buy a container of 15+ servings to simply test it out. I personally like GU Roctane.
Is there a reason why your considering a switch from gatorade?
Another Tailwind believer. All you need, all day. Really.
I like f2c. No sugar, potato based starch for carbs. While I don’t know enough to evaluate their science, one of my teammates is a doctor and another is a registered dietitian, and they say it’s legit, which is good enough for me.
