Anyone else really digging this? I had been staying away from Gatorade but picked it up on a whim when I saw it next to the Jarritos sodas at my local Publix. (It’s apparently being marketed to Hispanics)
It’s got a nice strong cucumber scent, a milder cucumber flavor and seems a little less sweet that most Gatorade flavors. Will probably buy again, even though it’s only available in the smallish bottles around here.
It’s awesome. My go-to flavor when I’m out on a long ride. I will say the lingering effect is REALLY strong. My bottles hold on to a bit of the flavor for a week or so. I wash them the same way I always do, but the Gatorade lime-cucumber really sticks in. Everything has a hint of that flavor for about a week, which is fine, but just a bit odd.
I actually thought to try it as I’d heard that lime-cucumber is apparently really “in” right now for mixed drinks and such. But I was surprised how good it was.
found it last Spring at a Mexican market in FL…thought it was a Spanish only market product till I saw it at two of my local Publix markets last week…I found the idea of the flavor really interesting but agree it does have a really strong lingering aftertaste for a seemingly mild flavor…kind of cloying almost…Dont think Ill get i it again.
.
i’ve been juicing a lot of lime apple (or pear) juice with my juicer lately. That sounds like a gatorade I’d like. I can’t stand the strong/sweet flavors
Made me sicker than a dog. Terrible, terrible, terrible taste to carry through a hot ride. I thought is sounded great as I love cucumber ice water and love lime. Big mistake on my part. I thought the flavor was much too harsh. I would have preferred it to be about half the concentration. It was too much for me.
Bought one on a Arizona summer night ride from school to home. 1st sip - Mmmm, refreshing. About 10 minutes later and a warmer bottle later - I’m going to throw up. The after taste lasted forever and stained my bottle with its scent. No bueno for me!
Doesn’t exits (as of yet) around these parts (Canada - Nova Scotia). But I suspect I could make my own by soaking cucumbers in water then using that to mix up powdered Gatorade. I may just try that.
Targeted to Hispanics…Im hispanic and the only way i eat cucumber is with Tapatio Sauce, lime, and salt.
I would never think of drinking anything with Cucumber…i’ve never heard of such a thing.
Its pretty funny actually.
The first time I had a cucumber drink was a couple of years ago. I was staying at the Ritz-Carlton Buckhead in Atlanta and was doing some laps in their pool. It’s a fancy-schmancy place so they had pitchers of water infused with cucumber and mint (because drinking fountains are apparently tacky or something). Best f’n water I’ve ever tasted. I would stop into the gym several times a day just to drink some of that water. It was that good.
