Garmin Footpod Issue (1)

I have a garmin FR60 and love it!! It has been perfect for 2 years. How long has you Footpod lasted?

Issues: I have changed batteries twice so far and that hasn’t fixed it.

1- if I rest for too long (stop at a traffic light) the speed will get stuck on a “0:00” pace?

2- after awhile of running, the pace will randomly jump to a “2:48” and get stuck?

If anyone could help that would be great!

I had a foot pod, the one supplied with my FR60 in fact, get “stuck” on transmit and act somewhat randomly after just over a year of steady training with my FR60. It would bleed through batteries in a matter of a week or two and would suddenly drop connections with my watch for no apparent reason with a fresh battery after 10’s of minutes of normal use. Lacking a spare, I managed to borrow another foot pod to pair to the FR60 so I could compare foot pods, and it became clear the original foot pod was to blame for the wonkiness. I called Garmin’s Customer Support line, explained the issue and without ANY questions or protests, they sent me a new foot pod, 100% Garmin paid! Brilliant!

I hear so many people complain about Garmin and their reliability. I’ve owned an FR60, 2x 910XTs, an FR70, an Edge 705 and an Edge 500 in sporting gear, plus a big old Garmin GPS95 for general aviation use back in the day, and in automotive gear a nuvi 370 and a nuvi 1490T. The only device that got sick was my FR60 when the screen lost a line of pixels well outside of warranty (like 3 years?), but one phone call later they offered to upgrade the FR60 with an FR70 at a reduced cost. Garmin has always stepped up to the plate when I’ve called them about one of their products with a solution and/or replacement, no questions asked.

No I don’t work for Garmin! But do give them a call, tell them something’s weird with the FR60 and/or foot pod. I can assure you they will be more than helpful.

Great info thanks!
