Garmin Edge 1000 won't talk to my phone

Question for the brains trust: My gf got me a Garmin 920 XT for easter (yep… Easter Bunny was good to me!) And after connecting it up to my phone, my phone no longer recognizes my Edge 1000. I’ve tried deleting it from Blue tooth and repairing it. My phone finds it and pairs, but Garmin Connect app can’t see it and the device can’t see the phone.

It used to work perfectly with sms notifications and live track all fine. However, now the watch is connected, the Garmin app can’t see the cycling computer. Does anyone know a fix for this?

There are two Bluetooth connections used, a regular one ( used for data uploads etc.) and Bluetooth low energy which is used to transfer the message alerts. Bluetooth low energy only allows one connection. So, if you are connected to the 920, you’ve used that one connection and the 1000 won’t connect. And vise versa. That’s the design.

Bugger! It may explain it, but I tried connecting the 1000 to my tablet (Which has no other blue tooth devices paired) but Ni dice there either :frowning:

Depending on age of tablet it may or may not have btle. Of course you also need gsrmin connect mobile installed to make this work.
As well, the 1000 sometimes doesn’t connect to a new device until you “forget” the old device on the 1000.
