Garmin downloadable workouts

How customizable are the workouts that you can create on garmin connect and upload to a 610? I have a 210 and it doesn’t accept uploadable workouts and you can only create workouts with one time/distance interval duration…

So, with a 610, can I create a ladder workout like .5, .75, 1mile, 1mile, .75, .5 or something like 3xmile with 4x.25…basically difference interval lengths within the same workout session?

I’ve gone to garmin connect and played around with the workout creator and it looks like I can do what I’m asking about, but without having a watch to upload it to, I can’t really see if it will work.

Thanks all!

for the 405 I’ve been pretty much able to upload anything I create. I tried to do some funky stuff with HR zones one time and it didn’t like it, but for just doing intervals you should be good.

Yep, I’ve never had a problem building any type of running workout I wanted in Garmin Connect, everything I do is based on pace.

completely customizable. you can put in any intervals you want in any order of any length (be it distance or time), and constrained (or not) by pace or HR. go nutz!

well, there probably is some limit to the number of specific different intervals. it might be 20- not sure. I recall a post some years ago from a person that was plugging in every mile of his marathon and constraining his pace differently for each mile based on grade- and he couldn’t quite do it. perhaps that’s changed now.

Nice! This is what I was thinking…first hand experience is much more valuable than product reviews. Thanks!!!
