I got a Garmin Forerunner 945 a few weeks ago and it has worked really well, but as of yesterday (and confirmed again today) it no longer records any distance when swimming. Every interval is just labeled as rest (image attached). Also, it no longer seems to be sending out livetrack links. Has anyone had problems like this or know of a way to fix them? I’ll go back to ask the garmin support people again, but when I contacted them yesterday they were less than helpful

That is weird. I have a pool swim planned tomorrow, so I will let you know if you do not get an answer by then. Mine was fine last Thursday.
i had the same thing today. 1st time ever. maybe a firmware update? was going to swim tomorrow but wont be able to get to the pool. ill report back on friday.
OK, I did my swim today, and my 945 was a bit Tango Uniform. I had to force boot it 2 days ago after it misbehaved on the charger. Today was my first use since then. When it came on, it notified me that it did a SW update. The swim lap button did not work after the first push until I rebooted the watch. Then it appeared to work normally. However, the first two swims I did before the watch reboot (with inop lap) did not sync to Garmin.
The upside, my Strava feed looked correct on the 3rd attempted swim session recording. So, I suspect a firmware updated needed a 2nd watch reboot to normalize things.
Edit: I reconnected to my computer and discovered that the watch totally lost my first two portions of the swim session (the two when the lap button was not responding right). So, the 7.10 update was probably dicey for me. (Also, my watch 3rd party face is not working consistently after the update.)
