My garmin 910xt (2+ years old) just died.
Started to see condensation underneath the screen after swimming 2 weeks ago.
Then when switching it on, the display was frozen. There was nothing I could do but to leave the watch for hours.
And now it doesnt even switch on anymore. When I plug it to the computer, only the battery percentage get displayed on the watch (100%) and thats it. Nothing else.
Called garmin support, tried to do a hard reset, nothing. Have to send it back to Garmin for RMA and they gonna ship me another one.
Just wanna know if theres some Garmin MacGyver out there who would have an idea how to transfer the data from the watch to the PC before I get rid of it…
While the 910 is connected to the charger, a small portion of the Mode button should be just barely visible. Push and hold the mode button for a few seconds while it is charging. The 910 may turn on. Disconnect it from the charging cradle and it should work like normal. You should then be able to sync to a pc.
This isn’t much help but… I had exactly the same problem a couple of weeks ago, however things went down hill rapidly as a result of it getting thrown across the kitchen bench (cracked screen). The watch ‘miraculously’ upgraded itself to a Fenix 3 (I know, my wife was as surprised as I was!)
Can you grab your data from Garmin Connect? It won’t be on the watch but you should be able to access anything its uploaded ]since you started using the watch.
