Garmin 310xt won't do anything

I tried to use my 310xt yesterday and when I turned it on to pick up satellites, it stayed on the “Garmin” screen (the first screen you see) and nothing else happens. At first, I thought the battery was running low. After I got home, I charged the battery to 100% and turned it on, but no progress. I did a soft reset and then a hard reset (I went through the set up again due to the hard reset) but it still gets stuck on the initial Garmin screen.

This is a refurbed one that I got from Garmin about 3 months ago. Anyone have any tips before I call up Garmin?

If you’ve tried soft and hard reset then I think you’re out of luck. Mine went into paperweight mode earlier this year and REI took it back no questions asked.

Mine is starting to do the same thing. I haven’t done a reset yet, but thought about it until reading this post. Did you check for a firmware update before the hard reset? Also wonder if it has to do with the amount of workouts stored on the unit, but if you reset it should have wiped those from the memory.

After a second hard reset, everything appears to be working correctly. Unfortunately, I lost a lot of data, so my lessoned learned is to transfer workouts to your computer often.
