My 310XT has always been finicky uploading data. Today it got stuck on the “Transferring Data” screen. It’s been stuck this way for 3 hours now. The power button, charger, or any other buttons don’t seem to be working either. Should I just let the batteries die? Anyone else had this happen?. I’m running the newest firmware.
This happens too me sometimes, usually when I have a lot of data to transfer. I end up turning it off and taking and taking the USB thing out and go on to farmin connect and my data is there magically. I think there must be a glitch of some sort.

Mine is stuck. None of the buttons do anything! Just stuck on the “Transferring Data” screen, and the power button does nothing.
Was forced to do a soft reset. I was still able to upload the data on Garmin Connect and my other training website after the reset.

Cool, the soft reset got it unstuck. I’d never done it before on the 310XT. Held down the Mode and Lap buttons, and it reboot the thing. Many thanks.
New Ant agent update on Mac has things working a load faster. I imagine the same thing on PC. It used to take me about ten fails then forever to download tracks and “upload to garmin connect”. Last two days have been pretty smooth.
Mine is stuck right now transferring. Tried to do a manual upload on Connect and it said no new activities.
The watch has been acting funky the last four times I have used it. It has taken longer to “start” when I turn it on. The Garmin symbol stayed on for almost 10 minutes once, today maybe 30 seconds. Tried to do a soft reset when the Garmin screen wouldn’t go away and it didn’t seem to take.

reset and re-download the software seemed to fix the problem, back to normal

I just had this problem about an hour ago. I did a soft reset and after it failed once it finally uploaded everything after about 15 minutes of transferring.
My Garmin got stuck with “Transferring Data” written across the face. None of the buttons seemed to do anything and I could not manually upload the data. I did a soft reset (“lap” + “mode”) and it finally turned off. When I turned it on again, it still said “Transferring Data.” After about 5 minutes, it actually did transfer the data. Good thing… marathon is in a week and I want to use my Garmin.
My 305 does this occasionally when it gets full. Fascinatingly, Device Agent from TrainingPeaks does a much better job than Garmin Connect.
