Just pulled the trigger on a 310xt but am having all sorts of problems creating account on the Garmin website. Also having problems getting the ANT+ pairing to work. My Mac is a 6months old MacBook Pro. Any recommendations? Thanks in advance…
Have no problems with my mac. Sometimes the Mac does not recognize the ANT stick attached but that is rare and I just pull it out and plug it back in.
No problems with my mac/310 combo either EXCEPT that garmin connect + safari often equals safari quiting while Im waiting for the connect page to fully load (which happens s-l-o-w-l-y for some reason)
.
Make sure you have the latest Garmin Connect and the latest ANT software for Mac. Mine works fine with my i7 iMac. Initially I had the plug/unplug USB issue referenced above, but that stopped when I added a Belkin “powered” USB x 4. I got the USB extender so I could route it to a drawer in my desk to hide wires, and to add conveniece in plugging and unplugging the ANT on the iMac, but the dang USB x4 solved the problem lol.
No issues with Garmin 310XT and my MacBook Pro. I also download my edge 500 from the bike. I too sometime have to remove and re-insert the ANT stink for the 310, but as stated that is rare. Garmin’s MAC compatibility is one reason I switched form 20 years of POLAR use. Won’t ever go back now.
I orginally had problems to, but redownloaded software a few times and then it finally worked.
My problem is that I am unable to successfully create of a Garmin Connect account. I have ANT installed and the 310XT is able to communicate with the Macbook. However, when I try to authorized the the ANT Agent on Garmin Connect, I get an “Access Denied” message…
So you’ve successfully paired the ANT+ stick and the watch??? Were you able to download data into the Garmin Training Center for Mac? If you can download to the training center, you should be able to view your workout data. If you haven’t paired the stick you should start there.
Like the others, I’ve had no trouble with the 310/Mac combo. I agree that assuring your software is current is a good first step.
I’ve found that Garmin Customer Support is best by email. I’ve been on hold for nearly an hour before. But, when I’ve emailed I receive the initial response within a day or so. Once you connect to your support person, the rep will send suggestions. Last month I emailed back and forth several times in one day with the rep. So bottom line, Garmin takes a while to answer the first email, and then after that it’s pretty quick. I’ve had good luck with customer support–including a overnighted warranty replacement 2 days before the Racine 70.3.
I have a 310xt and have had the forerunner 405 and edge 405 running on my MacBook Pro with no problems. You do need to make sure you are using safari though as for some reason firefox doesn’t work well with Garmin Connect on a Mac.
Thanks for all the advises. Indeed, the problem was with FireFox. Switching to Safari solved all the problems. Having used Polar (RS200SD & CS200CAD) for the last 3 years, the 310XT is really impressive! I think I can get use to Garmin…
