This guy was next to me at the Sudbury Race. Ready to take on the triathlon world…I guess a little too ready.

One more thing I should point out…thats a GPS unit in his hand. He was trying to figure out his average speed with it. I dont know why he didnt just use a bike computer.

Confucious say…those concerned with GPS put helmet on backwards!

That’s amazing… Dude looks pretty fit, appears to have a tri bike (at very least a tri front end), and is still probably faster than I am.

No doubt a speedy T1 time…at least his sneakers are on properly!

Got any pictures of him on the run?

Did anybody say anything to him?

I was just checking out the pics of the people I was talking to next to me in the transition area when I stumbled on his picture. He didnt keep his helmet on during the run if you are wondering.

…So this would be a bad time to mention that, ah, I might have had my helmet on backwards in my first triathlon? I say, might have…if, for instance, this is me…which it is NOT.

Hey, that’s easy to do!

Earlier this year, during a training ride at a local park that closes its ‘picnic’ loop to motorized traffic each weekday afternoon, I came across a father and his 3 young children who had just finished churning out a few laps on the loop. Although the father and his kids were all smiles as they passed, for some reason I could not let the fact that the fathers helmet, although properly sized, was on backwards. I rolled up beside the father and casually asked if they were enjoying the ride and he grinned even more and said absolutely! I mentioned how I thought that he and his kids all wearing helmets set a great example for others before casually asking the man if his helmet was hurting his head? He replied that it was sort of uncomfortable and asked how I knew to which I replied with a smill - “you, um, have it on backwards!” He looked at his kids and kind of groaned and in an exasperated voice says “Crap! Nicholas, I thought you said this was the way the helmet is supposed to fit?” There was a moment of silence and then all three kids (all apparently under the age of 10) started laughing uncontrollably apparently delighting in the fact that their little prank had finally been discovered!"

A gem post! Very funny…

Thanks for the laughs

Paul

last race I did, I saw a helmet (Giro Pneumo) by the trail, about a half mile in. someone forget somethng on the head?

I’m still on the fence. wish I knew what the weather will be like in two weeks.

Looks like he had the GPS unit in a pocket for the bike, but put it on his arm for the run. I don’t know if I would have tried putting in on during the bike like he did. With all the effort he put into using his GPS, you’d think he’d have planned on putting his helment on better.

Not to pick on this guy, but that is a tiny kid behind him on the run.

I know that kid…that is Tyler Hamiltons kid…he is on “the juice”

If that guy only knew that putting his helmet on funny would result in him being the focus of a website thread, having sequential pics of him posted, comments about his body, his actual time splits being posted, and the kid behind him being made fun off and accussed of drug use … he might have double-checked it.

“Crap! Nicholas, I thought you said this was the way the helmet is supposed to fit?”

At least he didn’t ask his son how to put on his jock.
