WWI memorial. I did not go into the museum but the grounds around the memorial are beautiful.
Get yourself some burnt ends if you like BBQ.
Hop on a plane and fly to Denver. ![]()
Arthur Bryant’s, B.B.'s lawnside, Gates.
Stumbled into a gay bar that had all the beer you could drink for $20 on Saturdays.
The City Market is fun.
Just go out and eat your way around town. Which is the best BBQ joint? All of them.
The National WWI museum is worth a visit. Interesting static displays along with great multimedia displays.
The Truman Presidential Library is very informative.
The Negro Baseball museum. It is an absolute must. I’ve been at least 3 times and learn something new each time.
And if you are into jazz, that museum is right next door.
And Jack Stack is my favorite bbq.
Disclaimer: wife is a KCMO native.
Aside from what everyone else is already listed:

I’m so glad you brought this one up! I didn’t know it was there and my dad guarded Truman’s plane. He had some great stories! I’m definitely going to check it out.
+1 on the burnt ends! There are some interesting warehouses outside of the city…they are old mines that have been converted for commercial warehousing use. There is also some kind of national archive located in one of them.
They run a race in those tunnels.
If you do go to the WWI museum take the elevator to the top of the tower for a great view of the city.
Downtown KC is awesome. Good night life. But if there with kids the zoo is amazing. Used to have a season pass. Deanna rose children’s farmstead super fun with kids. Main train station has a great science museum and cool train museum. Museums in KC are as good or better than DC. Outside leavenworth area of KC had the largest renaissance fair in the US….amazing. The WWI museum is
worth going into. The national treasury is right beside the WWI museum; cool to go to. I love KC—this the wife btw. I lived there with 2 kids. I LOVE KC WITH KIDS. Best city for kids

Worlds of Fun or Oceans of Fun amusement parks
You’re playing a dangerous game. This is how people get primaried.
Union Station is a nice walk through. Always fun to catch a Royals game at the K. The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art is great. Hyde Park offers outdoor exploration.
That is so cool!
