Good luck Longboarder Bob and Torrey tomorrow at Vineman! Weather should be good for you. Anyone else racing VM or Barb’s Race or the Aquabike?

I’m pulling for Bob (Longboarder). He’s had some run issues lately, so a finish will be great for him. Good luck!
Cathy, any idea of how to get race updates? a friend of mine is racing and I’d like to follow her progress.
They have a Twitter feed going, but the results search looks like it will be final results only.

Dan Arlandson is a stud…2 times over now!
Not nearly the race I was hoping for time wise due to injury issues and lack of triathlon focus the last few months, but probably one of my best races “mentally”. Its a lot harder to push yourself to continue moving forward when things are difficult than when you are racing well. Proud of my effort pushing through some bleak times today on the bike and run!
Kylie had a kick ass race with a 20+ minute PR!
Did vineman full today. It was my second ironman.
12:02:18 overall
112/683 overall
16/99 in 40-44 age group
Race report will follow in a few days. Improved 28 minutes from IMLOU last year. I am pleased.
Congrats on the Personal Best. Especially impressive as the Vineman course is tougher than Louisville (in my opinion).
11:59:40 overall (beat my soft goal of sub 12, by just a hair!)
107/683 overall place.
31/114 in M35-39
Very Happy!
Bike was 5:43:45, so I hammered on the bike. Swim sucked, and run sucked worse, but I did it. First IM.
First full iron for me. Got to work on my run!
Great job out there to you Mike! Were you shooting for under 10?
It was a great weather day with high of only 78 and afternoon sea breaze was always present. A pretty good size field and some very fast times. Winner went 9:13. One of the top guys ran a 2:58 mary… I had an ok swim and bike and limped through mary to finish in 11:42. Having a race in your home town is great since it took me five minutes to get home and hit the hot shower. Good job to all out there that raced!
12:14:51 for me, good enough for 134/683 overall, 20/99 in M40-44. First IM for me. Great race, very well supported. Highly recommended for other 1st IMers. Swim is VERY easy, IMHO. Bike is pretty, not too challenging. Run course is TOUGH, no flats except for the few miles around the finish area. Also people kept telling me that this was a cool year, but, man, that run course felt very hot to me. But overall, great venue and race.
Great job everyone!!
And a lurker won her category in the Aquabike! Nice job.
Mike D. neglected to mention that he was 6th overall in the Full VM.
And yea…I think I see Longboarder Bob’s name in the finishers!

I did AB for the 2nd year in a row…after doing CDA in June, I was glad to have a fun swim, and then be done when I got off the bike!! Great day out there, but man, the roads were rough!
Longboarder came in just over 15 hours. I know he had doubts about being able to finish the run due to issues he was having, but looks like he toughed it out. Way to go Bob!
I was stripping wetsuits in t1 all morning, having a great time doing it. The highlight was the girl who stripped the suit off the guy who was cammando underneath. A bit of a shocker for her and a huge laugh for the rest of us. Then I went to chear on the 13 atheltes I coached for team in training. The last finisher was one of my athletes, really emotional for her and for me too. She ahd one minute to spare! If you saw purple and green flames out there, that was us. Incredible day for racing. PERFECT weather.
Dave
Hey guys, to everyone that raced congrats.
Due to health/family issues I was going to DNF after the first loop of the bike…but I went for the whole thing. I was happy to finish with a 15:07.
AG 7/13
Since it was my first FULL a couple of things I noted:
The swim was ok but my arms felt like I surfed for 2hrs. Since the river is shallow there were lots of people walking. It was kind of weird swimming with someone walking next to you.
I was kinda dehydrated off the bike and a little more tired than I expected. The road was rougher than I remembered.
The run for me was a shuffle/walk as expected. But I had time to talk to some great people.
I’m looking forward to my next full…with a much better time.
Good job Mike! hope you enjoyed it.
If that lurker is me - thanks Cathy - was surprised and pretty happy w/ the results.
