I’m curious to know what your swim test is? Just how it changes from location to location.
The swim test is a 1/2 mile ocean swim that must be completed in less than 18 minutes. The course is a 300 yard down and back with a 140 yard in and out section. Swim is held regardless of surf conditions. If you pass the swim, there is a series of the rescue skills that are timed and involve running of various distances. Pass rate for the entire test is about 50%. Other beaches run different test and there is no standardized state test.
