Hey everyone, its been a while since I’ve been on here (took the season off of tri), but I wanted to share a site I helped a friend develop. Its called Recon Rider and its basically a new source for triathlon bike course reports. There are only a couple of courses available so far since a person can only get to so many courses in one season. One of the other sweet details of the site is full length course videos taken from an on board bike camera with elevation, speed, position, and the rider’s HR and wattage overlayed. Its almost like a Sufferfest for LSD rides.
Anyways for the Ironman Canada course in Whistler (which is broken into two videos) we have a promo code available right now for 25% off a rental or purchase of the video on Vimeo.
Here’s the URL for the site and you can follow it through to the Whistler IM Bike Course videos. Or you can go straight to the Vimeo sites here;
Great idea and I reckon you’ve put a lot of work into it but in the age of cheap apps and high volume internet distribution, might I suggest that you lower the price?
I know it feels like a risk but I’d happily pay $5 to$10 and recommend it to a heap of friends I just think for $42 US which is equivalent to approximately $2 million Australian Pesos it prices itself out of a lot of markets.
Just my 2c. Good luck with it anyway

Would happily buy the video for your rental price. That would also bring you inline with what veloreality charges for their videos (and they’re at the high end of what I’ll pay for cycling videos).

thanks for the great feedback guys. Well I’ve taken your input to heart, and seeing how many trailer views versus purchases I’ve had, I’ve lowered the prices quite significantly. Not all the way down to purchase price for rental price, but quite a fair bit. Anyways, have a look, and the promo codes up above for the Ironman Canada vids in Whistler still work (slowtwitch16).
Hey Captain Tri! Use the promo code “spring2016” from now until the end of April to get 20% off to rent or buy either of the Ironman Canada course videos!
Why don’t you upload these to CycleOps Virtual Trainer (without the overlays of course). That way people can actually ride the courses with the resistance changing appropriately and their ride data will be overlaid instead of yours.
