I’d been unhappy with my first-gen Scott Plasma and finally took the plunge on a Fuji D6. Only got to ride it once before Wildflower Olympic last weekend. In a word, it FLIES! Though it is a bit heavier than my Plasma (19.5 lbs vs 17lbs–new 3T bars are heavy as well), this thing just moves. The frame is incredibly stiff and the acceleration once rolling is awesome.
In fact, set a new PR for the course of 1:10:59. In the 11 years I’ve done it, previous PR was 1:11:40, and average time is 1:14:33.
Imagine shaving 3:12 from your 10k time?!
Bike was set up the same way as previous years, too, with Hed 50 front and Hed 90 rear.
I love the look of the bike, just looks fast sitting still, but the bike just doesn’t seem to get too much attention around here. Is there any publicized wind tunnel data kicking around? Why so little love?

I don’t know why the little love, but here are some very positive video reviews:
That is a nice bike, I wonder if there is any comparison test around of the D6 vs the others. Wouldn’t mind having this as my 1st tri bike… good thing I have a lot of time to think and save up I hope others post some pix
I’ve always thought the D6 was a sexy bike. I didn’t like the paint jobs sigh. The new black one is super sexy!!! Too bad I’m not in the market for a new bike!!!

Agreed…the new SHIV paint scheme is really nice as well. I like the “stealth” look.
While I agree it does look pretty awesome I remember seeing some wind tunnel data that was terrible. Thats where thevlackmof love comes from. I think it was a kestrel ind tunnel tet but they also tested the d6.

And yet the OP PR’d with the D6…good thing we don’t race in wind tunnels
How do you feel the position from your D6 is compared to your Scott? I’ve been considering a D6 (won’t lie, the seat post scares me a little) but I generally fit very well on Fujis so I’d be interested in hearing your thoughts.
Sounds like somebody owns a d6 and is a little sensitive. Imagine how Fast you could go on a bike that performs well in the wind tunnel. I agree the engine is the most important aspect of going fast, but why spend $4000 on a lesser product.

Probably wasn’t Kestrel. Kestrel and Fuji are the same company. Probably not gonna throw one of your own products under the bus…
I thought about the Fuji, but how hard is it to change or flip a stem on the bike, i guess once its set up it wouldn’t matter, but seems like you would have to remove the front brake cable just to change the stem.
I am having my D6 painted at the end of the season because I hate the colors. (2009 black & red w/rival)
I am going to have it painted a soft-flat-black and I am going to have the ‘Fuji,’ 'D6" and some decals painted with a gloss black with a dark grey trim line. They, (Auto-Detail) will also match my HED jet disc and H3, neck, aerobars and crank arms. And, they are doing it for $450. I think that is a great deal.
I love this black and white look!!! Did you have your bike painted also…never saw this color setup…
