Hi
I’m thinking about buying a Fuji bike since I’ll be able to get a really nice deal. Before doing so, I’d like to hear some opinions from people who already own one regarding quality, handling, etc.
Thanks!

I have owned two Fuji Aloha’s. I consider the Fuji Aloha to be like the Dodge Neon of tri-bikes. If you would drive a Dodge Neon then you won’t mind the Fuji Aloha.
I started with a Fuji Finest AL. Still use it as my winter bike and doesn’t seem to have any problems keeping up. It’s been the receipiant of a lot of hand me down on upgrade form other bike so I think the Frame and Bars are the only originals left, but the Geometry I like and if the bike fits you then it’s a good bike.
First off, what model? I have an 05 Team SL, 05 Team Pro and will soon order their cross bike. I have had no issues with mine whatsoever. Our team has about 40 Fuji’s total and everone seems to like them. I was going to order the Aloha 1.0 two years ago, but I got a better deal on my frame, and I wanted to wait for their carbon to come out, so that will get ordered next year.
Hi
I could get the Team model (carbon) for around $1,000 (Half of the original MSRP). I was going to shop for a new bike in 4 more months, but since I could be able to get the bike for half price, I might get it now instead of looking for other options since; I doubt I’d be able to buy any carbon bike for that price.
Any specific pros and cons you have noticed regarding your or your team’s bikes?
Thanks!
FYI, Fuji sponsors our team, so I’m little biased. I can’t say anything about their TT/tri bikes, but I love their racing bikes. I have a 2006 Fuji Team C4 carbon frame that I built up Dura Ace (paint job is smoking). Handles well, good acceleration, and absorbs the bumps nicely. I’m drooling over the new 2007 frames, but can’t justify dropping more money after buying a new one last year. Personally, I give Fuji a thumbs for great performance at a great price. Some of the guys on our team have gone Orbea and Colnago, but still speak highly of Fuji. Hope that helps!

I would be all over that. That’s a great deal. The old aluminum Team cost $1600 or more (depending on components) 5-6 years ago. And you are getting a sweeter ride (probably no lighter, though). Fuji makes good bikes.
IMO, Fuji makes good, but not great bikes. Nothing wrong with them, but nothing great about them either. The Dodge Neon example seems pretty spot on to me.
I would jump on that. I can’t give exact numbers, but I can tell you that is very close to sponsorship pricing an I also race on and am sponsored by Fuji.
I don’t quite agree with the Neon comments, maybe more like a few year old Corvette in a sea of Ferraris and Lambo’s. And fwiw, if Fuji is just okay, check out the Scott’s…damn near identical.
Nah, more like an Accord or a Camry … Good value.
My opinion of Fuji is not geared to the quality, as they seem to be high quality and reliable rides. My knock on Fuji is a lack of ingenuity and “uniqueness.” I like when companies like Scott, Trek, Cervelo, etc. come up with new designs, materials, and frame styles. Fuji goes with the tried and true. Nothing wrong with that… but to me, nothing great either.
Thanks for all the feedback, it seems like it’s a pretty sweet deal that I should take based on the price/quality combination. I’m looking forward to see how carbon behaves, since currently I ride titanium Tri and mountain bikes.
The designer left Fuji and went to Scott, or vice versa according to a few Fuji reps I’ve spoken with.
The Fuji and Scott are VERY close. And I don’t see Trek or Cervelo putting anything impressive out lately either.
A few years ago, I would have agreed, but now look at the SL1, the Aloha CF1, and the Team to see some changes for the good going on over there.
“What the heck was he going to do with a family pack of KFC chicken, a football helmet full of peanut butter, a 12 inch rubber dildo, and naked pictures of Bea Arthur?”
Please return my “candid” photos of Bea. They were given to me one fateful weekend in Boca Raton. High sentimental value.
