Fuel Belt: He or 10K -or- Nathan?

I am looking for a 2-bottle hydration belt. I like the streamlined feel and look of the 10-k, but the Helium seems to have more cushioning and I am wondering if its that much more comfortable. Plus, the pocket on the He seems strange and bulky compared to the 10-k model, but it can be removed. Looked at a few posts that said the Nathan was a better choice. What about the bottles for the Nathan v. Fuel Belt? Opinions?

I got a 2-bottle Fuel Belt (w/ one pocket in between, bottles are 10oz I believe) as swag at Timberman.
Never used, still has the tag on it.

If your waist is 32" or less, it should fit you (it’s a medium).

You can have it for $10 plus whatever shipping is.

PM me if interested.

I enjoy using an Amphipod over a fuel belt because it is very customizable.

You can add or subject bottles, keep them vertical or lay them down

Add pouches or take pouches off.

At first many people think that the amphipod bottle holding system would be less secure than Fuel Belt, but I not knocked a bottle out and I find it easier to take them off and put them on.

Nathan is a far better choice than fuel belt. I’ve used both quite a bit, and Nathan is hands down a better choice. I say that because FB has soft “loops” for bottle holders, and they can be difficult to manipulate to get the bottle back into. I’ve dropped the bottle countless times and had to go back for it, and even worse, have lost them without noticeing when they bounced out. Huge problem when you’re several miles from home in oppressive heat. Nathan on the other hand has stiff plastic loops which easily accept the bottle with one hand, and I’ve never lost or dropped one. Plus they stay in very well and don’t bounce out.

I’ve never used Amphipod, so I have no way to compare it to a Nathan. But I would certainly go with one of those two, forget FB.

I send the nathan for numerous reasons, plus I am a previous fuelbelt user. One it is much easier to get the bottles in and out of nathan. second is the bottles are 10oz containers.

thanks
chris

Hands down I sold my fuelbelt to buy the nathan speedblet.
The Amiphod I have heard the bottles fall out during a race

Ditto on the Nathan. I used to swear by Fuel Belts until I had an opportunity to try a Nathan. Now it’s all that I use. We’ve got three in the house. One for my wife, one for me and an old one of mine that got too big for me.

I’m really confused by the name “10k”.

Are they suggesting that you wear a belt like that when you swim 10k? That doesn’t seem to be good for the hydrodynamics.
