You’re not going to get any bites on this auction, either, with that high starting price.

This is 75% of new.

My next step will be to take the FSA cranks and BB off.

Worst case I donate to charity.

Asking price is asking price.

So, what do you suggest it is worth?

Dave

I’m not trying to suggest what it’s worth, rather as an experienced eBay seller I know that it’s easier to get people to bid on an item with a lower starting price. People are generally conservative about bidding, but once it gets rolling they feel comfortable and can even get involved in bidding wars when emotional attachment to the auction kicks in. If you’re looking for a definite price you could consider a Buy-It Now auction for a set price.

Bon chance.

Good point, I changed it.

Dave

I never bid on anything if I feel like the seller is trying to screw me on shipping. I feel that if the seller is unethical about the shipping charge than he may be unethical about the product that he is selling. $100 for a lightweight frame, crank and bars seems a little high to me…

Personally, I’d take the bike of the back of the car, pull the components off, polish up the frame, and get a nice photo of that sexy frame under some good light. When you list it, you should try to put the frame size and the word “Cervelo” and “Guru” in the title. No one is going to be searching for “VO3”

Good luck.

I have been screwed too in the past in what it cost me to ship something. So, I would rather cover myself and let someone come back to me as many do and we find out what it costs to ship based on where they live. I will look to see if I can change that is that was not my intent.

Dave

Okay, is that better?

Thanks for the suggestion.

Yes, my next step will be to take the BB off.

I just hate to take it apart until I find a buyer since someone may want some of the components that I already have installed.

Dave

For sure you’ll get 100x more hits now that you’ve change the subject title- that can’t hurt.

I’d think of the excitement that you first had when you bought that frame. What was it that attracted you? Then I’d try to incorporate that into the item description. You could write about how Steve Hed has more experience with bike aerodynamics than anyone in the business and used that knowledge to build one of the fastest bikes there is.

Certainly pulling the bike off your car, polishing up a bit, and taking a good photo would help. Unfortunately, it’s a buyers market right now as it’s cold in many of the parts of the country and all the 2006 models are being rolled out.

Best of luck,

Ben

I agree. Problem is I am an engineer, not a salesman. :o(
