I’m selling my Garneau triathlon/time trial bike. This bike was barely used, and for only one summer race season. I’m selling it because I get new equipment each race season from my team’s sponsors. This bike is fast, and I’ve had some surprising results on it, including 3rd in the biggest pro-level time trial in BC this season (in Victoria, June 1). It’s a size Large, 56cm effective top tube, good for 5’10" to 6’3" or so.
Asking $2200. Transaction only in person: Vancouver or San Francisco.
Compare this to a Cervelo P3 Ultegra ($3600), Trek Speed Concept 9 Ultegra ($6090), Specialized Shiv, etc., this Garneau ($5000 new, see link below) has every aerodynamic enhancement and a beautiful, unique look:
- Fork integrated into head tube for aggressive but UCI-approved aerodynamics
- Front wheel cutout, airfoil shaped downtube
- Ingenious internal cable routing
- Thick bottom bracket area is aero and stiffer
- Rear wheel hides in seat tube and unique seat stays
- Rear brake hidden behind bottom bracket for clean air off the back of the bike
- Thick chain stays
- Easily adjustable seat post without compromising aero; easy for travel and fit
- Seat clamp gives so many positions, seat tube angles, etc.
Bike is outfitted with Shimano Ultegra components – the benefits of the pricier Dura Ace for a time trial bike are minimal. Bars are upgraded from the base Vision bars which normally come with this bike, and instead have Pro Missile S bars. Bike comes fully equipped except no wheels.
TriSports.com called it: “pretty darn impressive” (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=54GVe8dCDV8)
