This is for a Bontrager Race X Lite Carbon Aero tubular wheelset (700c, Shimano 8/9/10-speed compatible). It features superb **DT Swiss 240 hubs, bladed spokes, and 43mm deep section rims **for an excellent combination of aerodynamics, low weight, and overall strength. This is a do-it-all wheelset, plenty strong for everyday riding and suitable for anything from triathlon to cyclocross (if you are so inclined). It comes glued with **Continental Competition tubulars (19mm front, 22mm rear). **The tires were mounted 6-7 months ago and have about 80% of tread left; in other words, you are set for the upcoming year.
As for the wheelset’s history, I purchased it as brand new old stock in 2009 and used it only on rare/special occasions (under 500mi). It has never seen any racing, rain, dirt, gravel, etc. - only smooth asphalt during casual Sunday rides. Consequently, it is in mint condition, perfectly round and true, with no chips or scrapes, only some tiny imperfections in the stickers, and minimal wear to the brake tracks (wheels were always used with carbon-specific brake pads). The hubs are silky-smooth, and except for the usual “bite marks” on the cassette body and a few abrasions where the axles contact frame dropouts, they look brand new. Overall, I would rate this wheelset 9.5 out of 10. I am selling because I have numerous other wheelsets, and this one just has not seen enough use (25mi in the last 3 months).
