I think the ones from Bicycle Doctor have the alloy rim/brake track while these are the full carbon.

BT Money is right. The ones I am selling is full carbon while the ones on bicycle doctor site are Alloy Rim Brake Track.

In my unbiased opinion, if you’re going to invest on an aero wheels make sure to invest in full carbon or else you lose all the benefits.

Here are some pros and cons between full carbon and alloy rim breaks

Wow that’s one of the most ignorant posts I’ve heard on here in a long time. Pretty sure you’ve heard of Flo wheels. They’re carbon rim with alloy brake track and test as fast or faster than most full carbon wheels including the ones your selling.

adktriguy46… We are generalizing. Full carbon wheel sets are better than ones with rim brakes

Of course there are exceptions as we are generalizing. Flo wheels are fast without a doubt and at a discount of the price but they are heavy too at 2198g. My set (52/80) weighs in at 1658g

Again, you could buy semi carbon with rim break but you won’t get the full benefit of a full carbon aero wheelset.

I’m sorry you are truly and utterly wrong. If that was the case then why did Tony Martin ride a set of alloy brake track HED wheels to his first World TT championship? Certainly every second counts at that level and he had the full carbon tubular versions at his disposal. No pro rider who’s income depended on performance would knowingly choose to ride a slower wheel if what your saying is true

Oh, you mean THE Tony Martin? The same Tony Martin that rides on full carbon zip wheels? Yeah, he’s awesome.
Can’t tell you why he chose to use alloy break track on his first world TT championship. I can tell you that he didn’t stick with them.

Probably because his current team is sponsored by zipp which was previously by HED and since they don’t make 404, 808, sub 9 disc with alloy anymore he’s didn’t “stick with them”. He wasn’t riding the hed alloys because they were faster but because it makes little difference. I’m not saving alloys are faster. I’m saying your “generalization” that buying an alloy rim deep carbon wheel is pointless because the junction between track and fairing negates any aero benefit is just plain wrong. It doesn’t even slightly mention that on the wheelbuilder link you posted

Why do you think ZIPP stop making alloy rims?
Let’s agree on one thing. Regardless of wheel set Tony Martin is the reason why he’s so darn good. Not his bike or wheels.
For my “generalization” it’s my opinion that Carbon Wheels are faster and have more benefits than Alloy Rims. Of course I’m generalizing as I know there are instances where alloy rims are equal to carbon. But those are the exceptions and not the rule.

Anyhow, wheel set are still available for anyone interested. Willing to consider best offer

Haha, good little thread you got going here. Free bump for that. I don’t really care about the rim argument, I’m just mad cause you keep saying “break”. If you bike wheel breaks, that’s really bad. If it brakes, that’s a good thing. Carry on
