Frs.. (1)

Has anyone tried the FRS energy products? If so, what do you think?

It tastes like Tang, so I consider that a plus.

I didn’t throw up at anytime after drinking it.

I didn’t suck on my ride.

So… I’d give it a big thumbs up as long as it is free. I got it as a gift.

If you read the label it is clearly legal doping…

Hard to quantify anything beyond that.

endorsed by lance. thats good enough for me.

low-cal peach mango=so GOOD.

I also really like the energy chews too. I can’t say if it gives me a “boost” or really helps my performance, but I think that the peach mango tastes GREAT.

RE: being legal doping…just curious what constitutes this? not trying to flame, this is legitimate curiosity. I’ve never used the stuff, but have always been curious.

Is it legit?

It is just another caffeine delivery mechanism.

Similar to red bull, or coke, or coffee if you add sugar.

It’s just caffeine and quercetin… I liked it but also made me have to pee a lot so stopped using it after the freebies ran out.

there were freebies? since when?

It’s just caffeine and quercetin…

I’m not necessarily a proponent of FRS. I’ve been testing it out over the last month or so. Does it really help out or is it a perceived affect. Still TBD. But I think facts are better than fiction so here are the facts (from the FRS package of chews in my desk drawer).

FRS contains Quercetin , a natural antioxidant found in blueberries, red onions, apples and cocoa. (Antioxidants supposedly neutralize oxidants in your body that cause fatigue). Additionally, FRS contains lots of vitamins so you can throw away your multivitamin. (200% vitamin C, vitamin E and 100% of Thiamin, Riboflavin, Niacin, B6 and B12). Also contains catechins (ingredient in green tea leaves). A serving of FRS contains 20mg of caffeine equivalent to 1/4 cup of coffee.

Compare to Red Bull for example: 0% vitamin A/C, 100% B3, 250% B6 and 80% B12.

If you look at the ingredients, FRS stacks up closely to 5 Hour Energy. 5HE contains “as much caffeine as a premium cup of coffee” (my guess is around 80mg of caffeine), 2000% of Vitamin B6 and 8333% of vitamin B12. Also 150% niacin and 100% Folic Acid.

I took 5HE twice during my IM race. Small and easy to stash in my transition bag and bike special needs bag…seemed to work out OK. This time I think I might try FRS to compare.
