Front derailleur / chainring question

I have heard that the latest ultegra from shifting tech is the cats ass.

I have been eyeing a new bike but the front runners don’t use bsa.

Will I get the same shift performance as long as I mount the ultegra fd and chainring on another type of crank (say an FSA or Rotor crank just to put something out there.)?

I would think so but I have never ridden anything other than 105/ tiagra. I don’t know how different the mounting style or spacing issues could come into play.

Thoughts?

Stick with oem crank. Ultegra is smooth but not as smooth as new dura ace. Regardless use the rings with shimano crank.
