As nice as the R3 is, why not take advantage of the aero tubing with a Soloist?

IMO he would be better off with HED Stinger’s or even Jet’s than with H3 for a draft legal race. But nice bike.

we have worked out with the guys at HED that the H3c’s are a better wheel selection for Musselman. They actually have a lighter rim then a stinger 60 or 90 (jets too) so they accelerate faster. The Stinger 60s or 90s are good for “sitting in” but if you want to ride off the front, the H3s are better.

On Musselman’s course, which is rolling, H3cs are the better wheel and the lighter R3 suits Bryan’s riding style and race strategy a lot more.

So Bryan is going to ride off the front. Spys, take note! He’s going for it!

Id rather ride a soloist carbon personally
.

Could be might be! LOL

AWESOME bike and great choice of wheels…

Nice looking bicycle. Although it seems that your choice of wheels and frame are almost contradictory. You are choosing a lighter frame yet wheels that aren’t the lightest. If you are worried about acceleration and wheel rotational weight why don’t you pick a better wheelset that maximizes this.

If you are worried about having a light bike then it seems wheel choice is odd as well

If you are worried about being more aero then frame seems a bit odd as the soloist would be better

Just seems strange.

Either way, good luck in the race

good luck going off the front, you’lll be caught 2km into the run!!!

I agree with you guys, not sure how “riding style” would give the nod to an R3 over the Soloist for an ITU race. What does that mean?

All very nice components, frame, wheels, etc… just a odd combination in my opinion.

Jase, those the clinchers?

Rhodesy & R&A/Hed? What’s the connection? I thought he had other sponsorships (Hi-Tech Bikes, X-treme wheels, etc)…

Yup-Rhodsey is now with R&A as well as HED plus some other new sponsorships in the works! Some big things a brewin for Rhodsey!!

Tubulars!

Many People say that, but we went with the lightest frame that we were able to get from bike sponsor Cervelo, equiped it with the fastest wheels from wheel sponsor HED, putting on the HED the clip ons the bike is still under 16 lbs and having the correct position for an ITU style race. Wheels (and positioning) will make a bigger impact over the frame in a race such as this one. We’ve studied the course layout and profile, its topography and turns, the numbers, equipment, positioning and race strategies, our decision was the R3 over the soloist.

People gave Bjorn and myself shit for our equipment selection for the Tour of Belize (amongst other races) but winning 2 stages and wearing yellow for several days in his first ever stage race, he did ok. People gave us shit about his disk and H3cdeep before Wildflower but he seemed to do ok there too.

It is going to be interesting at Musselman.

hey bro, we love ya. i would be SHOCKED if the r3 is faster unless this is a hill climb. we lova ya.

(i know you’re supposed to sandwich criticism with compliments :))
