Is it possible to setup some type of email notification where new posts containing keywords are sent to my email?
For example, I could set it to notify me when new posts in the classified forum pop up containing the word “Polar”.
I know I can just go on the forum and do a search, but I would love for a way to get notified either through the site or some other service or app like Google or something.
We don’t offer this YET. But we’re thinking about it. Problem is that it might be way too much load, depending on how popular it was.
You can use Google Alerts - http://www.google.com/alerts - in the meantime. That’s pretty good, though obviously you’ll need to be a bit more judicious with your query phrase. But I’d think if you put “Slowtwitch Triathlon Forum Polar” (without quotes) that’d work okay. Just a guess though.
you should be able to use the site: prefix to do it. e.g.
site:http://forum.slowtwitch.com/ powercranks
will search all forums for “powercranks”.
