Any recommendations for a shop that rents decent road bikes?
Bicycle Generation in Deerfield Beach does a ton of bike rentals and I’m almost positive they rent out some pretty nice road bikes along with the boot around bikes for the tourists. Deerfield is about 20 mins north of Ft. Lauderdale so depending on where you’re staying, it shouldn’t be hard to get to. Right off of Federal Hwy and Hillsboro Blvd.
Head to A1A after you get your hands on the bike and hook up with one of the hundreds of groups riding north!
Thanks for the reply. I sent them an email and got a response from them stating that they do not rent road bikes. Any other ideas?
Not sure on the bikes but be sure to swim at the swimming hall of fame there…or the ocean.
really? Sorry about that, I know they do a lot of rentals and I thought some of the used bikes on the floor were for that purpose too, maybe just the shop guys’ bikes.
I’d reach out to B and J Cycles in Pompano to see if they have a suggestion, the guys there are really helpful, it’s a small shop so I don’t know if they rent bikes but they are at least nice enough to point you in the right direction.
I’m happy to keep throwing bike shop names out to you but I don’t know if that’ll help the process. Sorry.
If my damn Transition Pro would ever arrive I’d have a road bike for you to borrow!!
I’m not sure how *decent *you need it to be, but I’ve rented bikes at Big Wheel Cycles in Ft Lauderdale. I haven’t done so in quite some time, but for a # of yrs I rented a Trek 1200 w/ aerobars which fit my purposes for the long weekend I was down there. Basically a few of us would go down to do the FAU Wellness Sprint Tri in Boca & I always had trouble justifying flying my bike down to a race for <25mins of time on the bike!

Needless to say, after '03 & '04 where I placed 5th/6th o’all on the rental, I decided to bring my own bike down in '04 to see how things would go 
Definitely give them a shout as they were always extremely helpful.
