I’m going to grab a Leader TT frame this winter and build it up slowly, wondering if anyone has any suggestions for a fork? I’m going used on EVERYTHING so any and all are up for consideration.
- I’m not a weight weenie so don’t rule out anything
- WILL NOT use a carbon steerer tube…EVER
Thanks for any suggestions
Not used, but a great fork for a great price nonetheless

At 195 I have used a carbon steerer for the last 5 years without any problems, and I am hard on equipment. I just got a 737TT from Leader along with their fork, you can’t beat the price and the fork was nicely made.
Yea I know the carbon steerer tubes are supposed to be just as good and maybe I’m just chicken, but I saw a guy on a 1 year old VeloVie snap one during the Pine Mountain Challenge in Georgia…made me realize how fast you can get mangled and at such slow speed.
Hey how did you work out your sizing? Leader seems to be maybe just a bit limited in their sizing options.
I ride a 58 Madone in a roadie set up, 788mm saddle height with 10cm of setback so I’m way far from a TT position. Pretty ‘normal’ physiology…not freakishly long or short in legs torso…6’1" 180…
Call Leader with your height, inseam and arm length and they will take it from there. Really great CS, they will help you every step of the way.
A steerer that breaks is just bad news - period. Ask Gerorge Hincapie. And his was an alloy steerer.

What you are missing on Georgie’s steerer tube breaking was that he had a big crash earlier in the stage so that is really not a fair comparison…obviously the tube was damaged in the crash.
