Fork Stand for KICKR?

Does anyone use a fork stand with there KICKR? The Kreitler ones are too tall. There are a few reasons why I want to use one. First it saves my front hub from having sweat drip into it all winter. Second it makes it so that I can move my computer/iPad stand within reach more easily. Lastly it makes my whole trainer set-up more compact.

This is the sort of thing I am wondering about.

you can “easily” fabricate you own.

You can purchased a special cloth that goes from your stem to your seat post to keep the sweat off the bike as well they also make a stand for tablets and phones…ll.l.

Have an iPad stand and the sweat thong is useless when in aero.

if more than one person thought such a product would be useful, someone would likely be making it.

I guess I am not the only one.

Here is what I ended up with. It works great and addresses all of my issues with one $80 purchase.

Did it change the ride height? IE lower or higher up front?

I just checked with a level and the front to rear skewer is still close to being level so I would say if it changed it at all it would be minimal.

That looks great. Care to share what you did or bought?

It is a Cycleops Front Fork Stand. I think that the Sportcrafters one would work as well. There are multiple retailers that sell them but I bought mine off Amazon.com.

Looks nice, but unstable. Any rocking or front to rear movement and it appears that thing could tip since its intended to be bolted down.

Actually more stable than with the wheel. I was worried that it might rotate but it hasn’t yet even with out of the saddle sprints. But I don’t produce thousands of watts either. Maximum of 500-600 watt sprints maybe.

To be sure its safe, I think you should send your KICKR and the fork stand to me for a few years of safety testing…

If no instability came from the Specialized shoes and saddle on a Trek frame, I’d say the stand is bulletproof.

I am causing a disturbance in the FORCE.

Nice setup you got there!

It’s funny to realize though that you’re admiring an INDOOR setup of a bike on a TRAINER with NO WHEELS.

Our triathlon forefathers would be horrified with what training in this sport has come to! (Not that I’m going to change any of it - do the bulk of my training indoors as well, and it works! In fact, I really should stop going to the pool and spend more time on my Vasa based on how little I’ve improved with swimming after I started going back to the pool…)

I ordered one today…

Thanks…

Kreitler has two different sized fork stands. One for the 4.5" rollers and a second one for the 3.0 and 2.25" rollers

I looked at those but they would definitely raise the front end too high
