For those of you that have a laptop without a serial port, how do you handle uploading data to motionbased?
I tried using a serial to usb adapter for pda’s with no luck. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

A serial to USB converter, relatively inexpensive.
How exactly does this work? The software searches the com ports. Do you have a link to one for sale somewhere?

This is a topic that is frequently addressed on the Yahoo GarminF group forum. Almost everyone who uses a notebook faces this hurdle.
I use a desktop and consequently do not have this problem. I was trying to be helpful having seen this question many times on that site. You may want to log onto the Yahoo group and research the solution.
After you install the adapter/converter you will need to point the software to the hardware so it will know how to access the Forerunner.
