For the tire guru's, Vittoria Corsa Pro G2.0

In tubeless set up, 28MM, how does it stack up?

I’m not aware of independent RR data yet, but Vittoria claims it’s a 12% reduction in RR from their previous model, which I think they mean the outgoing Corsa G2.0. Using the BRR “ultra high pressure” CRR of 0.00366 (12.2W at 18MPH for given load), the new one would be ~0.0031 or around 10.7W.

That puts it in very good territory, but not as good as the benchmark GP5000S TR (~8.4W)

Unfortunately BRR makes pressures you’d actually use “members only” data.

It’s worth it. For the reduction in cognitive dissonance I gain by justifying my purchases with their graphs, I think $10/yr or whatever it is, is silly cheap

We have published data for the 24mm and 26mm on the AeroCoach site:

https://www.aero-coach.co.uk/time-trial-rolling-resistance-data

We found the 26mm pretty much identical to a GP5000S TR in 25mm.

Thank you for that. So would you consider a tubeless, 28mm Vittoria superior to the same tire in the Pirelli Race TLR? Looks like in your test it was 4 watts faster.

We haven’t tested the 28mm I’m afraid so I wouldn’t want to speculate too much. I doubt it’s worse than the 26mm though.

Thanks!

I don’t really get the recent fascination with this tire. It seems to be a good training tire but it’s still a good bit slower than a corsa speed and gp5k tt.

Cool tan sidewalls? Since I’m the OP I can only speak for myself but of all the “fast” tire options, these were the only one’s I could find available in 28mm and they are better than my current Pirelli’s.

The 28c has lower Crr than the 26c but is obviously slightly less aero. Depending on road conditions, we found a 28/28 or 26/28 to test fastest (to note that this is very different from, say, a Corsa Speed). I am personally switching between the two configurations, also considering weather conditions.

As shown by the Aero Coach data, the tire tests in line / faster than the Conti in the same category. A GP5000 TT will stack against a Corsa Pro Speed.

I can’t emphasize enough how the comfort of those tires has made a difference to my ability to keep speed across the terrain. Take this for what it’s worth but testing them makes you realize the advantages of a cotton tire.

Good take, my race wheels are HED RC Pro disc brake, an 8 front and rear disc. For tubeless at my weight, I can run them around 60-62 PSI.

underestimated statement!

Specially in roads with cracks and such having a comfy tire pressure will help you to keep the rubber on the ground plus less movement of the body as well.

I am still fiddling with psi but this is the way for sure (in my mind at least)!!!

If Vittoria are marketing the Corsa Pro their fastest tire yet, why wouldn’t the comparison be against their (now) 2nd fastest tire: Corsa Speed G+ 2.0 (TLR) which is BRR listed @0.00225CRR @100psi (7w @18mph) - or did I miss something obvious?

It’s still their 2nd-fastest road tire, still significantly behind the Speed (at least according to AeroCoach).

The marketing (I’ve seen) says “fastest for racing and road bikes.” I’d guess they’re not including TT in that, and they’d consider the Speed a “TT” tire. Just a guess. Even though the Speed is used all the time for mass start racing on nicer road surfaces.

Makes sense. I guess we’ll find out once the testers get it on their rigs.

That is correct. The new Corsa Pro is our most advanced cotton tire to date thanks to the new vulcanization process - and our fastest Corsa Pro tire but it serves a different purpose vs. the Corsa Speed which still remains our pure ‘speed’ / TT tire.

Any other questions, feel free to ask.

What is the fastest tubular tire, the Corsa Pro or the Corsa Speed G2.0.
I just got a flat yesterday on my corsa speed and I am looking for a replacement.
Thank you

So how does it compare with the Corsa?
