I was flipping through the Roadrunner catalog last nite and noticed they have designated the Gel Kayano 11 as a “classic” so it should be available for quite some time. While no one is going to love any particular shoe, it has been my observation that more people were happy with the 11 than the 12 or 13. Made me happy anyway – the 11 has always been “berry berry” good to me.
I may be easily amused…but Hooray!
…I have 1 more in the box…and about 4 pairs of used 11’s flopping around the house…the newer ones may be lighter, etc…but if it aint broke…

That is excellent news.
The 11 is perfect. The 12 is what I run in now, and it’s acceptable, but not as good as the 11. The 13 doesn’t fit.
Why can’t they just leave well enough alone? If it ain’t broke, and all that.

I just checked the website, and they don’t seem to carry it in my size. Dang. Oh well, it was good news while it lasted, and it’s still good news to other folks. I’ll check at the store to see if they carry it there.

Yup. I wear an 11 EE.
I’ve searched the net, and they don’t seem to exist anymore. I guess I’ll probably have to run in XII’s, and hope the XIV fits, but it seems unlikely with the trend, as the newer model never seems to fit as well as the previous one.
Who knows…maybe when the XIV comes out, it’ll fit so poorly that Asics will just lose me as a customer, as I’ll be forced to find something else.
The 12s were barely acceptable. I couldn’t bring myself to buy the 13s they fit so poorly. They were so bad I switched to Saucony Hurricane’s, which have been very good to me this year so far.
Did they bring the 11s back in Women’s as well as Men’s?
